Industrial control &
cybernetics, from Stavanger.
Arta Kyb AS builds advanced process control software and delivers the engineering to put it to work — bringing capability that has historically been reserved for the largest plants within reach of many more.
Advanced process control has long been the preserve of a handful of vendors and the largest, best-resourced plants. The methods — model-predictive control, digital twins, real-time optimisation — are well proven. What has been missing, for most operators, is a way to deploy them without disruption or disproportionate cost.
Arta Kyb exists to close that gap: a modern, containerised platform that runs beside an existing control system, paired with hands-on engineering to identify models, prove value on one unit, and expand only when the numbers justify it.
Built on deep expertise
Arta Kyb was founded by Ali Abooshahab, who holds a PhD in engineering cybernetics from NTNU — the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, internationally recognised for its work in cybernetics and control. His research spans state estimation, Kalman filtering and model-based control, with peer-reviewed work in Automatica. Model-predictive control, system identification, state estimation and real-time optimisation are core competencies here — applied with academic rigour and engineering pragmatism.

How we work
We are deliberately honest about what is built versus aspirational, and we document capability maturity openly. Engagements start small — a read-only pilot with a quantified benefit estimate — and grow on evidence, not promises.
Let’s run a proof of value.
One well-instrumented unit, a read-only pilot, and a quantified benefit estimate — with a reusable playbook for what comes next.
